Another Successful Event

This years annual Childcare Providers Network Event was held on Thursday May 22nd 2008 at Tywyn Primary School. The theme for the evening was Multicultural Diversity and during the evening Childcare Providers were able to attend a workshop from a choice of three. They included Can you feel the Rhythm which was facilitated by Chrys Blanchard, Multicultural Cooking, facilitated by Najma Ali from MEWN Swansea and Playing Fair in Practice which was facilitated by CPCKC. At the end of the evening every provider received a resource bag worth over £25. If you would like further information about future events please do not hesitate to contact the EYDCP Unit.


EYDCP Training Programme

The training programme for the period from September to December is now available from the EYDCP Unit. The programme includes First Aid training which will be held over 3 evenings starting on the 25th September. A fun session for creating cirlce time resources in the medium of Welsh is being held on 23rd October as well as 'Why do they do that'which looks at why children behave the way they do. This session will be held on 4th November. There are also Child Protection, Basic Food Hygiene and a Designed to smile course being run all before the Christmas period. Childcare Providers Network Event

The next Childcare Providers Network Event will be held a joint venture with the Playworks team. Together we are holding a speed networking event and during this event childcare and play providers will be able to ask the questions that no one else dared to ask. There will be an array of services and organisations available to answer any queries that you may have on an individual basis. The event is taking place on November 18th at the Glyn Clydach Hotel, Neath from 4p.m. - 7p.m. We look forward to seeing you there!


Aberavon Integrated Childrens' Centre

With the appointment of a Project Officer and Admin Officer, Aberavon ICC is moving towards opening its doors to the community of Aberavon and Sandfields within a few weeks. Offering childcare, open access play, training and ad hoc family support activities, the ICC is the first of its kind in Neath Port Talbot. For full details please contact the EYDCP Unit.
